Specialist Fingerprints
The Specialist Fingerprint Unit (SFU) visualises and photographs latent fingerprints
These are fingerprints which are invisible or undetectable by routine methods.
They are visualised using specialised lasers and lighting techniques in conjunction with multistage chemical treatments. This then enables PSNI Fingerprint Officers to carry out comparison work on the now visible image.
